It's been Gucci Chicago!

This transfer has gone by SO fast. And I feel so much peace.

This week was a struggle for us. But the highlight of my week was going to Brother Oldham's funeral. There was such a special spirit there. When Sister Oldham got up and spoke, I was so touched by her faith. I walked out of there wanting to become the person Heavenly Father wants me to be. They're such great examples for me.

This has all gone by so quickly. I'm so grateful for all the people I've met, worked with, and have come to love. The people here will be in my heart forever.

But before I go, I would like to share my testimony!
I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I haven't been a perfect missionary. Not even close. I have so many weaknesses. But I know that Christ came down for you and for me so that we could improve and be forgiven. With Him, we are enough. I know that we are never alone. I know that God loves us and is aware of each of us!

And I'm so grateful that He sent me here so that I could better understand these things. I'm grateful that He sent me here so that I could grow and be challenged. It's been so difficult but I know that here on earth, God is with us every step of the way. No matter what we are going through! I'll forever be grateful for this challenge/opportunity/mission! :)

I love you all. Thank you for your support and love and prayers.

I'll see you soon!

Love,
Sister Gallegos

Grateful

Dear Family + Friends,
This past week went by crazy fast. It feels like we just had P-Day yesterday. I had my departing interview with President Bingham on Thursday. We also had Zone Conference and a district finding activity this week. And on Saturday all the departing missionaries got to go the Temple with President and Sister Bingham. There was a great Spirit there and I just kept thanking Heavenly Father for letting me come on this mission.

Yesterday at the end of sacrament meeting, our bishop announced that Brother Oldham passed away. It was so sudden and a shock to all of us. He was our ward mission leader. We love brother and Sister Oldham. We stopped by later Sunday afternoon with cookies and just sat with her, and talked and cried with her. I felt God's love so strongly. In that moment I finally understood what "mourning with those that mourn" is all about. And what the "pure love of Christ" is all about.

I know that the plan of Salvation is real. I know that peace comes from Jesus Christ.

I'm grateful to be here.
I'm grateful for the time I have here on earth to learn about Jesus Christ and to strive to share His Love with others.

Please keep the Oldham family in your prayers!

Love,
Sister Gallegos

Another short email

This week...
- we had a meeting with president Bingham on Friday, and they had
great lasagna.
- had a lot of medical issues. Oh well!
- had two exchanges
- had two great lessons with Janet
- moved sister Hafoka's bed into the living room because I've started
sleeping on the couch because my bed is so uncomfortable.
... this week was a blur. Things are going super fast, but life is
great. I love Chicago so much. I love being here and wish I could stay
for just a little longer! We have our temple trip for departing
missionaries this Saturday, so I'm really looking forward to that. We
also have Zone Conference. So that will be long. But great. Also, i
LOVE sister Hafoka. She's the best!!
Love Ya'll!

I'm burned out of Emailing

HAPPY NEW YEAR. Here are some pictures from this week. We worked really hard and saw some great miracles. I also hope that all of you feel better soon.

LOVE YALL

- Sister Hafoka uses the apron every time she cooks.
- Some members from the ward got me a PDX chocolate bar! It made my day.
- We went on exchanges with some sisters. And we have two more
exchanges this week.
