Mi primera semana en Español

My first week in Spanish has been glorious!! I LOVE HERMANA RICHINS. She is from Ammon, Idaho and loves Taco Bell, Pepsi, and Chocolate. We are the same person and call each other "mission soul-mates." She's exactly who I needed. We've had a crazy/eventful week. My thoughts during the week:

"I hope someone steals our bikes during our appointment."
"I wish I could watch the Cubs game..."

- We've been praying for "el don del lengua" a lot.
- We found a NEW investigator named Victoria!
- We gave Juan a Book of Mormon this week. It made me super happy. It was ALL in Spanish.
- We're in a biking area.
- We have a couple on date for December 24th named Pablo and Ciri!
- There's a lot of creepy people in this area.
- Saw some drug deals.
- We were asked if we could give this guy's wife a blessing with these exact words: "Can't you lay your hands on my wife?"....... uh, NOPE. Bye Felicia!
- We live in a huge apartment. That's awesome. There's a nice couch that we sometimes fall asleep on.
- we contacted a guy named Albert. He was wearing a Dallas cowboy beanie, so I took it as a sign that we were supposed to talk to him! He was super nice. We took a picture and everything because I wanted to show you DAD!! Lol Albert said he wears it just because he needs a hat. He said that the Cowboys haven't been good in a long time. Oh well. :)

VICTORIA: she literally fell into our laps. We were in Subway eating dinner. We started talking, and she said she's been looking for a church to go to!! She asked what bible we read. And when we said the King James Version, she said "I was meant to meet you guys!" So we are meeting with her this week! AHHH.

This week has been full of a lot of tender mercies. I understand a bit more each day. And Hermana Richins is helping me a ton too! In those moments where I'm like..."I have no idea if I can do this" the spirit comes in and lifts my soul! I've gotten a lot of notes of encouragement from people this week that have come at the PRECISE moment I needed them.
All I know is that God provides a way even when there appears to be no way.

At the beginning of my mission I remember a sister bore her testimony and said, "It's not what I had in mind, but it's what Heavenly Father had in mind." That's how I've been feeling lately.

Last night Hermana and I watched Meet the Mormons.
My favorite story is the one at the end about Dawn and Anthony. It's so POWERFUL. As she bore her testimony, my own faith was strengthened that we truly are never alone. Especially in those moments where we may feel like God isn't there, I know we are NOT alone.

I'm excited for what this next brings. Because I know with certainty that God will be with us each step of the way!
