August 29, 2016

We saw so many miracles this week!

On the way into the city, (via the train) there was a cute old Hispanic man sitting behind sister Veale. We started talking to him and gave him a Book of Mormon. We testified of it, and got his contact information. His name is Celso and he's from Guatemala! I told him that he looked like my dad. We laughed and then took a selfie. He was the sweetest! The next day he texted us and said, "Thanks sister. You are so sweet and nice. Felt something nice when You and Sister Valerie (lol) talk to me,"  It was the sweetest message. We testified that what he felt was the Spirit!   Hopefully we will be able to meet with him soon.

Another night we were contacting in a park. Sister Veale stopped to compliment a guy on his artwork. He had a lot of his paintings set up on a bench. He gave each of us a free painting. He was so thankful for us and our kindness. We then gave him our card and a Book of Mormon! We also took a selfie with him!

And a couple days ago we ran into Jackie. He's a homeless guy who knows EVERYBODY. He's hilarious. I really like him. But we gave him a Book of Mormon and testified. He was really appreciative and said he would read it.
We took a selfie with him too!

On Friday we had a long missionary meeting with Elder Grow from the seventy! That was dope.
I felt like knowledge & the spirit was being pushed into my brain.

Yesterday in relief society, the teacher shared this scripture:
1Nephi 21:16: "Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me."

And then I looked at the verse before:
"15 For can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee, O house of Israel."

I was really touched by both of these verses. The Spirit reminded me that I am not forgotten. I don't know if any of you need this message today too, but I know that none of us are forgotten and that God is mindful of each of us. "We matter to Him."

I hope you all have a great week!
