Dear Loved Ones!
This week we were able to find another new investigator!!! Her name is
Janet. She's old and sassy and I ADORE her. We contacted into her a
few weeks ago while in Barrington. Then on Tuesday, sister Trowbridge
and I were together for exchanges. We prayed about where to go, and
Janet's name kept coming to my mind.
We drove to her house, and then sat out on the porch with her in
rocking chairs. She had been given a Book of Mormon several years ago but mentioned that it was buried in a trunk somewhere, so we gave her a new one. We started talking about the restoration and the Book of Mormon and it was the most natural teaching moment I've ever had. It felt so genuine and SO natural. It was sweet to see her heart and face literally soften as we testified of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. And she totally related to him! When we were talking about how confused he was, she kept saying, "that's what I mean!" Haha, she committed to read the introduction to the Book of Mormon and said we could come back on Tuesday!
It was a total miracle.
She also continued to say that she wasn't going to be a Mormon. But I felt so peaceful. And the words, "that's what they all say," kept
coming to mind. I LOVE Janet!
Other than that, this week has been rough! On the up side, sister
Copeland and I have gone 3 weeks without getting a cold!! #Miracles
And it's barbecue season.
So, that's nice.
Especially when members feed us. Mmmmm.
We are also in the city this morning seeing the Shedd aquarium! Woot woot.
(Not sure how to spell it!)
There's not much else to report,
But I LOVE the Lord.
There's so much joy when we give our whole souls to God's work!
(I'm still working on it. 😁👍🏾) But I feel greater peace and
happiness when I turn outwards instead of thinking of myself.
(Also I just realized that I'm wearing the same shirt in three photos. Whoops.)
